Housing and Tenancy Support Worker – Migrant Service

Responsible to: Housing and Supporting People Programme Manager

Salary: NJC 8 £25,992 (FTE)

Hours: 18.5  (Part-time)

Contract: Fixed term. Ends March 31st 2026.

Location: Newport

Role

· To provide housing related support to eligible migrants living in Newport.

· Provide practical and emotional support, advice, information and advocacy to migrants living in Newport. Working towards the goal of preventing homelessness, increasing connections in the local community and securing appropriate accommodation

· To liaise with a range of professionals and organisations to maximise resources for the client.

· Promote understanding, awareness and positive attitudes towards mental health and wellbeing.

· Promote equity, diversity and inclusion.

Clinical Placement Opportunities at Mind in Gwent Counselling Service

We are seeking Volunteer Counsellors to offer one-to-one weekly counselling to a minimum 3 adults weekly. 

  • All trainee applicants must be on a Level 4 course or above, or in their 2nd year or above of a recognised/accredited training institution
  • Trainees must have experienced their own personal therapy
  • Trainees will be able to join free clinical supervision groups provided by Mind in Gwent

We offer trainees the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients with various mental health difficulties. If you would like to apply for a volunteer placement, please complete the application form.
