Getting Help to Stay at Home and Live Well

At Mind in Gwent, we help people with mental health challenges to find and keep safe homes. We know it can be hard—but you’re not alone.

What We Do

When you live with a mental health issue, things like rent, bills, debts, neighbours, or feeling lonely can feel overwhelming. We offer support to help you:

  • Keep your home safe and stable
  • Move on from supported housing to live independently
  • Pay less rent or stop debts from growing
  • Apply for benefits like PIP or higher-rate Universal Credit
  • Get food parcels or help with household items
  • Apply for grants to help with costs

Supported Houses & Flats

We offer temporary homes with support, and help you move into your own place when you’re ready:

  • 4‑bed houses and 2‑bed flats
  • A project with 6 ensuite rooms and shared living space
  • You must have mental health struggles and need housing help

Tenancy Support in the Community

We help people living anywhere in Newport—whether in private rental, council homes, or owned homes—with:

  • Debt and money worries
  • Neighbour disagreements
  • Becoming part of your local area
  • Avoiding losing your home or homelessness
