Helping You Stay in Your Home and Live Independently

Mind in Gwent offers a Tenancy and Supported Living (TASL) Service to help people in Monmouthshire keep their homes, stay safe, and live more independently. This service is funded by the Welsh Government Housing Support Grant.

We support people living in:

  • Social housing
  • Privately rented homes
  • Their own homes (owner occupiers)
  • We also provide supported accommodation for people aged 18 and over across Monmouthshire.

Who Can Use This Service?

You can get support if:

  • You live in Monmouthshire
  • You rent or own your home
  • You are at risk of homelessness
  • You are over 18 years old
  • If you are homeless and the local council is helping you, you may also be able to move into our supported accommodation.

What Help Can I Get?

Our trained support workers will work with you to create a personal support plan. This plan is based on your needs and goals. You can get help with:

  • Budgeting and managing money
  • Keeping your home safe and clean
  • Looking after your physical and mental health
  • Cooking and eating well
  • Understanding your tenancy and rights
  • Staying safe at home and outside
  • Meeting new people and joining community activities
  • Starting or returning to education
  • Getting emotional support

We’re here to build your confidence and skills so you can live independently.

Support lasts between 1 month and 2 years, depending on what you need.

Our Services

Supported Accommodation (Shared Housing)
We manage 4 shared houses across Monmouthshire. These houses, called Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMOs), provide homes to 28 people.

We work with Registered Social Landlords and the Local Authority to provide safe, secure places to live. Our shared houses come in different sizes to meet different needs.

Floating Support (Help in Your Own Home)
If you’re having problems with your home – whether you rent or own – we can help.

This is called floating support. A support worker will visit you regularly to help you:

  • Stay in your home
  • Manage bills and benefits
  • Handle any problems you’re facing

Please note:
We don’t provide personal care, transport, or cleaning services.
