A Safe Space for Young People

I can talk about anything without being judged. It’s a free space to let out all my emotions.

Whole School Support for Mental Health and Wellbeing

We believe mental health is everyone’s business. Our Whole School Approach to mental health and wellbeing helps schools build a safe, kind and open space for all. We work with:

  • Young people
  • Parents and caregivers
  • School staff

Together, we break down the stigma around mental health and help everyone feel supported.

How We Help Young People

Through our BOOST (Build yOur Own Self-help Tools) project, we offer:

1-to-1 Support Sessions

In selected primary and secondary schools across Newport, we provide private, caring sessions where young people can talk and be heard.

We help with common challenges like: Common difficulties we support young people with include: Anger, Anxiety, Bereavement, Body image, Change and transitions, Confidence and self-esteem, Low mood, Managing feelings and emotions, Relationships, School stress, Self-harm and suicidal thoughts

Group Sessions, Workshops and Assemblies

We also run fun and helpful group activities, including our popular Resilience Workshops, which teach young people how to bounce back when things get tough.

How We Support Parents and Caregivers

We know it can be hard to help your child when they’re struggling. That’s why we offer:

  • Easy-to-watch videos to help you talk to your child about mental health
  • Support and advice to help you feel confident

How We Support School Staff

We care about the mental health of teachers and school staff too. Our support includes:

  • Staff mental health training
  • 1-to-1 consultations
  • Helpful wellbeing videos

Most services are open to all school staff, including teaching and non-teaching roles. Some sessions are also designed for those who need a bit of extra support.

Together, we can make schools happier and healthier places for everyone.
